The Hummer originated from a military vehicle and was developed by the US Army. The Hummer became increasingly popular especially when Arnold Schwarzenegger increased the Hummers publicity as one of the first civilian owners of a Hummer, when it was first introduced to the market as a civilian High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle in 1991, which was otherwise known as a HMMWV as you could imagine this was difficult at most times to pronounce so gained the nickname Humvee, so when cars were made for the civilian market by AM General they named the cars Hummer. In 1999 AM General the manufacturer of the Hummer sold the name Hummer to General Motors.
A smaller version of the H1 model, the Hummer H2 model is a standard sized vehicle of 23 feet, just over 7 meters long and was modified to create the 38 foot long vehicle to become the limousine with a higher roof for extra comfort. Not only is the Hummer powerful with a 6 litre V8 engine it is also reliable and comes with tyres wider than the other models.
